Intro
Another track with some graphics 'difficulties'. The main thing I see is another one of those landscape issues where mips create an unrealistic "patterned" look. For some reason that is distracting to me when driving--some sort of peripheral vision thing I guess. Or a sign that I am distracted far too easily. Once again I have played around and actually came up with some substitutions for the primary culprits. The MIPs themselves have some nice textures and graphics--it's just a matter of getting things skewed right. Not quite there yet though and it's far from perfect--you can still see some of the repetitive "tile" in spots. But the drive is so much more fun. I can overlook some of the flat and purple MIP trees with this fix in place.
Other Changes To-Date
-Minrace LP. The original crossed over the race LP at spots and I changed this to try to smooth out the AI.
-Added some 'starter' PTA and CTS setups
-Added CTS stanza in INI
-Changed CTS 'fast' setup--it looked like a CUP setup was used for original
-Changed pace stall (to front of pit road) to get a later and more unpredictable green flag
Possibilities
Change purple trees mip
Add 3DO trees where needed to obscure flat tree mips
More INI work (AI related)
Camera work
Re-paint the Infineon grandstand ;)
Summary
I have tweaked the CTS AI settings and really enjoy racing them. The CUP and PTA mods seem to go over the top in some respects so I'd like to get back to those
Note: This is the only track that I have been unable to get a proper replay (and consequently, a track bitmap) in Replay Analyzer. I don't know the reason; it shows up fine in Sandbox.
