Update--Bralli 1.3!

This is no longer a project track and is available from the Downloads page. When I become ambitious again I will remove it from this section and incorporate all information on the Bralli Track Page.

Version 1.3 -- (August 2007)

Added support for PTA, CTS, GTP, & PTA2ModX
Now has 2 fully working pit lanes
New horizon and signage
Completely new AI & LP's
Revisions to TV2 camera
Simple configuration change option for 42-car field

Without giving everything away, the LP lines and AI support have been done by one who I truly believe to be a master of the "dark arts". You will recognize him quickly and appreciate what he has brought to this project (along with everything else he contributed). The fact is, every time I have started writing this blurb for the past month I have instead ended up racing. I hope you will get the same enjoyment out of it.

I believe as we (those of us who remain faithful to NR2K3) go forward that a fine-tuned AI is going to become more important than ever. Because it will become harder and harder to find online racers to run against on tracks that fall outside the Nascar series. So now I will give it away--the AI here was the creation of the one you know as fortine_oo. He is also the fastest human that I've seen run this course--I ran countless laps trying to get close to his fastest times.

This is not an easy track to master (for me anyway). I believe I finally learned what it means to "slow down to go faster" here. I recommend that you read the file about driving a Cup lap and then work your favorite mod after trying it. Of course each mod will present its own unique challenge. Most of you will undoubtedly have an easier time than I did but I hope you will stick with it and overcome the challenge. The biggest obstacle? Well, one slip and it's a long way around to try again. But worth it when you hit your marks right.

I long ago admitted that I was captivated by this track in its original form. I admired the fact that someone was willing to step out and try something a little different. The ReDUN Group tried to maintain the integrity of the original creation while adding a few features and completing the track. In this case the AI was a prime consideration and since I am still a 97-percenter I think it should be able to provide a challenge for the more hardcore drivers. In any case, being 'casual serious' at best, I am most interested in hearing your opinions and fast laps.

What? You Want Screenshots?

I have screenshots and replays out the gazoo. Everytime I ran against the AI I thought there was something I needed to save. Maybe I'll find some time along the way to take some clips and make a little movie that will run in Windows Media Player. In the meantime check the photo album for a glimpse of the track.

Bralli (The Old Stuff)

I have this one well documented elsewhere. It doesn't need much--maybe some AI work and general race tweaking. Graphics great, a fun ride. This track features tree placement at its best--no chopped off treelines or flat-top (I'm anal about that--the flat look sends me to distraction). The author figured it out (maybe due to a unique artistic temperament and lots of patience); it should be a good reference for those who are looking to do the same. I found this gem when I thought I was running out of tracks to try that would get me excited. Since then it seems that I nearly always find a keeper in a batch of older tracks.
